Games will begin with an opening prayer lead by the home team.
In the round robin games, home team will be determined by a coin toss. In the elimination games and championship game, home team will be determined
by the following criteria-in this order. - Highest
seed, then, if tied...
- Highest cummulative run differential
for all tournament games played (total runs scored - total runs against), then, if still tied...
- Coin toss
|
|
Foul language and foul behavior will not be tolerated. A player
may receive one warning. If he still can not control himself, he will be asked to leave the tournament.
|
|
All games will be 7 innings.
Round Robin and Elimination Games:
- Time limit is 1 hour. PLEASE
HUSTLE IN AND OUT BETWEEN INNINGS.
- Standard
extra innings are permitted if the game has not exceeded the 1 hour limit.
- If after 1 hour, the game is tied, the game will be played out via 1-pitch format.
Championship Game:
- If the championship game is tied after 7 innings,
standard extra innings will be played to determine the winner.
- In the event darkness becomes an issue at the championship game, the home plate umpire can opt for a 1-pitch format
to expediate the game.
|
|
There is no limit on the number of players that can hit in
the lineup.
If a player arives after the start of the game, but before
the team has gone thru the batting order, he may be added to the end of the lineup.
If a player in the lineup gets hurt and is unable to go on,
if you do not have a sub, it will be an out every time he comes up to bat.
|
|
"Mercy Rule" is 12 runs after 5 innings and 10 runs after 6 innings.
|
|
Home Run Rule: Each team is allowed 2 home runs per game.
After 2 home runs, any fair ball hit over the outfield fence on the fly will be an out.
|
|
Defensive substitutions can be made at anytime during the game.
There are no limits on the number of times a player can re-enter the game for defense. The intention here is to give captains
the ability to fairly distribute playing time amoungst players. A player can enter and re-enter only in the same spot in
the batting order.
|
|
A batter will have a one ball and one strike count at the
start of each at bat. Batters with two strikes will be allowed one free foul.
|
|
Out of play is considered the end of the dugout fence through the
end of the home run fence. Any live ball rolling past the out of play line is ruled out of play and runners will get
the base they were running to at the release of the throw and the next base. If a foul ball is caught in play and the player's
momentum carries him past the out of play line, the play is considered dead, an out is recorded and the runners will advance
one base.
|
|
Courtesy runners are allowed by using the person who made
the last out, if alright with opposing captain.
|
|
ASA Bats ONLY - An ASA Illegal Bat list is located at the
concession stand. Please review the list of illegal bats and verify that none of these bats will be used during a game.
If an illegal bat gets used, the other team will need to protest the bat. The first time the bat is used the player
using the bat will be rulled out. The second time in a game that the bat is used, the player using the bat will be out
and everytime his spot in the order comes up will be an automatic out. The third use of an illegal bat the player will
asked to leave the tournament. Visit the official ASA website for official information about ASA bats. ASA NON-Approved Bats
